Applications to Phantom Thieves International are currently OPEN.

Application rules:

-Phantom Thieves International is an Alternate Universe game. All characters being apped into the game must create an AU background to fit into the established setting

-Original Characters are permitted in Phantom Thieves International, they must be designed to fit the setting.

-You may have 1 active application in the queue at a time

-Application Cycles begin on the first of each month at midnight EST and remain open for 1 week.

-All applications will be processed within 72 hours of receipt on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Contact: (A contact we can use to reach you. Applicable contacts include Plurk, a link to a Dreamwidth journal including the journal for the character you intend to play, or an email if preferred)

CANON CHARACTER INFORMATION

Character Name: (Name of the character you are apping)
Canon: (Name of the canon your character is from)
Backstory: (Backstory of the character you are apping. A link to a wiki article is acceptable. If you are apping an Original Character, this section may be skipped.)
Personality: (Describe the character's personality, strengths, weaknesses, and motivations in your own words. This should be a minimum of 3 paragraphs and should give us a good idea of who they are and what they are like. For Original Characters, this should describe them in the Phantom Thieves International setting)

AU INFORMATION

AU Character Name: (This can be the same as canon name if appropriate)
AU Backstory: (What was it like for your character growing up and living in this setting? This should be at least two paragraphs, at least one of which needs to describe how the character was wronged by society, which in turn precipitated them joining the Phantom Thieves or aiding them. Depending on the circumstances, this can be simpler for Guides if they are newly created.)
AU Personality Deviation: (How is this character different from their canon self, having grown up in modern Los Angeles. This should be at least a paragraph and have at least one major difference. If you are apping an original character, this section may be skipped.)
Species: (Human or Guide. Humans are regular people who have been living within society and until recently have no connection to any supernatural phenomena. Guides take the form of anthropomorphic animals in the Metaverse and as normal animals in the real world. Born of the Metaverse, they understand and have an inherent knowledge of Metaverse and how to steal hearts. Guides are typically animals associated with Tricksters, such as Spiders, Cats, Foxes, Coyotes, Ravens, Crows, Rabbits, Monkeys, etc)
Class: (Infiltrator, Operator or Accomplice. Infiltrators enter the Metaverse and fight Shadows, carrying out the physical task of infiltration and stealing hearts. Operators also enter the Metaverse but do not possess a Persona that is combat-oriented. They can scan shadows for weaknesses and use their Persona to influence the terrain into advantageous situations. Accomplices are limited to humans only, they cannot enter the Metaverse nor can they understand the speech of Guides, but they are aware of and aiding the Phantom Thieves and have resources in the real world that can assist, such as connections to the police department, or a large and secure safe house.)
Arcana: (All characters are associated with a Major Arcana within the Tarot. This association defines the benefit others gain from entering into a Social Link with you. More information on Tarot in the Persona setting can be found here: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Arcana. The Universe Arcana is off-limits, the Hunger, Aeon, and World Arcana will only be permitted under very compelling circumstances)
Persona: (For Infiltrators and Operators only, describe your Persona. This Persona should be an original to your character and can mirror your character's canon abilities and appearances if desired. When submitting a Persona, also submit a final form of that Persona which is unlocked if you ever achieve an S Rank Social Link with another player. A personal Persona should have an elemental alignment and an elemental weakness. More information on Elements and associated skills can be found here: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Persona_5_Skills. You are not required to take the skills presented here and can make your own that fit your Persona/mimic your canon powers, but the element-based abilities should use the terms associated with them - Fire is Agi, Nuclear is Frei, etc.)
Social Link Persona: (Required for all characters. Select three Persona you grant other characters who have formed a Social Link with you, one for C, B, and A ranks. Persona for this should be taken from the list of any Persona associated with the Arcana from any Persona game, which can be found here: http://megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Arcana)
Assets: (Describe the Assets you bring to the Phantom Thieves. This is generally real-world connections and material items. If you are an Accomplice, you can have a Major, Intermediate, and Minor Asset, Major Assets are huge and useful things like being wealthy, being a well-connected politician, owning a secure safe house, or owning a business that can provide benefit to the Phantom Thieves. Intermediate Assets are helpful but not overwhelming, such as connections within the Police Department, local businesses, or owning a spare vehicle that could be used by the Phantom Thieves. Minor Assets are helpful but typically circumstantial, such as owning a collection of swords or guns that can be borrowed, or being skilled in a martial art. Infiltrators and Operators may only pick a single Minor Asset.)
Weapon Type: (Infiltrator only, what kind of weapons do they use? Typically this should be a primary melee weapon like a sword, dagger or axe, and a gun such as a pistol or machine gun)
Vehicle Type: (Guide only, what kind of vehicle can you turn into in the Metaverse?)
Codename: (Infiltrator or Operator only, what codename do you go by in the Metaverse?)
Form of Rebellion: (Infiltrator or Operator only, describe how your character looks within the Metaverse. For humans, this should include a dramatic outfit shift, possibly mirroring their canon outfit, and a mask of some sort that is torn from their face to summon a Persona. For Guides, this should be their anthropomorphic form)
RP Sample: A Sample may be any of the following:

-10 comments in the Testrun meme between at least two characters, with each thread having at least 4 comments from your character
-A one-paragraph in-character first person informal sample and three-paragraph in-character third person narrative sample
-Answer at least 10 of the sample questions below, as posed to you by Igor upon your entry into the Velvet Room and receipt of your key.

Questions Sample Prompt: (The following scenario is available to all characters who are apping in and is considered canon - after signing your contract, should you choose to linger and explore the Velvet Room Igor will invite you to take a seat as he shuffles a Tarot deck. He will then draw a card, turn it over, and ask you question a in turn. These questions should be answered in character, it is OK to lie but indicate in OOC text when the character is lying)
